Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, subsequently named NRK, invites you to participate in a technical market dialogue.
The purpose of such dialogue would be to give NRK a better understanding of the current market situation and state-of-the-art services available related to web-based audio/video conferencing with tools for handling live sessions and recorded sessions, and on this basis receive input from the supplier market.
Primarily, NRK wants to talk with existing suppliers with relevant experience related to media services as described below, who are willing to share their knowledge and experience on the matter. We also seek to engage in a dialogue with developers who aim to solve parts of our challenges. Integration with existing systems will in both cases be relevant.
Over the years, our ability to conduct interviews and receive live feeds from remote locations has improved in terms of quality and reach. But the systems remain quite complex to set up and some require technical support. The physical communication units are in many cases not on the right location when we need them and apps providing conference abilities on smartphones often depend on personal accounts like Apple ID to be installed. When reporting breaking news, there is no time for technical issues and training of the end-user. The ability to communicate must be natively available and intuitive.NRK is therefore looking for solutions based on WebRTC[1] for recording interviews and for integration into a live broadcast (e.g. SDI I/O).
