Short description
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has signed a development contract for hydrogen-electric ferry on RV. 13 Hjelmeland — Nesvik and is now strongly considering following up on requirements for hydrogen-electric ferries on the West Fjordsconnection (Rv. 80 Bodø — Værøy — Røst — Moskenes). The Norwegian Public Roads Administration wants to enter into a new long contract for the West Fjordsconnection after the current contract expires on 31.12.2022, the current contract has a 1-year option.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration are in the process of preparing a recommendation memorandum to the Government, with proposals for the framework for finances, the environment and the procurement strategy for such a call, and in this connection wishes for input from the shipping industry, the maritime supplier industry and the hydrogen industry.
